AGP MLAs on hunger strike against Citizenship Bill

Guwahati, Jan 24(UNI) The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), which had quit the BJP-led coalition government in Assam over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, today staged a hunger strike against the Bill.
All 14 MLAs of the party, including the three legislators who had quit their ministerial positions, participated in the 10-hour hunger strike that began at 0600 hours in the city.
Party president Atul Bora said the AGP will intensify the movement against the Bill and ensure that the protests resound at the grassroots level.
