AGP, BJP and BPF united to oust Congress: Brindaban Goswami

By Santu Das
Tezpur, Assam, Mar 29 (UNI) Former Asom Gana Parishad president Brindaban Goswami today said the alliance between AGP, BJP and Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) was mooted to oust the corrupt Congress government.
Talking to UNI, Mr Goswami said, "Congress had done irregularities in the state in a large scale. So we have united together in this polls to oust the government of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
"I hope we will succeed in restraining the Congress party and AGP will play an important role this time," the
ex-education minister said.
He said, "People's participation in government policies is the only way in which corruption can be confronted, which the Congress govt had not done. If we come to power, will work along with the people for development of the state."
"During my tenure as Education minister, I got tremendous result through this process," Mr Goswami asserted.
Taking a dig at the Congress party, the senior leader said, " Tarun Gogoi always blame us for doing corruption and alleged AGP involvement in a sensitive case which created outrage in the state. Congress had raised the issue but failed to identify the culprits in the last 15 years because they actually knew what the truth was.
"Though the number of party candidates contesting election is minimum, AGP will get maximum seats. The figure will be more than 20 plus," Mr Goswami said.
The senior AGP leader said the party had decided to increase its strength from the grassroot level to make it more powerful.
Asked whether he had aspiration to be in national politics, Mr Goswami said he want to concentrate on his constituency and make Tezpur new 'Nalanda' of Assam.
The senior leader had served Tezpur as MLA for four times.
