Agenda delays in COP29 over disagreement on exclusiveness of climate finance

Biswendu Bhattacharjee, Baku, Nov 12 (UNI) The agenda finalization of COP29 at Baku on the first day got delayed because of the disagreement of Presidency over UAE dialogue on the role of finance in emission cuts.
While developing countries at the beginning were persuaded to focus the discussion of climate finance, the developed countries pushed for other issues together with financing led to a deadlock in the plenary till Monday evening.
Countries like India pushed allowing discussion on UAE dialogue for implementation with provision of finance at the center of outcomes, recognizing that other means are also crucial but developed first world countries disagreed on exclusiveness of discussion.

Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary Ranger Pradosh Moharana said the forest personnel intercepted a trawler and seized one VHF set, one GPS set, one fish finder, and six trawling nets besides four quintals of marine fish catch from the arrested fishermen.
