Agencies claim to foil terror attack on Kumbh-bound trains; four held at Haridwar

New Delhi, Jan 20 (UNI) With the arrest of four suspected aspiring militants linked to Islamic State from Haridwar, the security agencies are believed to have foiled potential bomb attacks on trains ferrying devotees to Ardh Kumbh mela which began on January 14 in the holy city.
A joint team of special cell of Delhi Police, Uttrakhand state police and intelligence agencies busted a module of four young men who were being groomed to become IS militants by a 'trainer'. This 'trainer' is said to be an Indian based in IS-held Syrian region and brother of Yousuf al Hindi, an Indian Mujahideen (IM) militant turned IS operative.
Yousuf and his brother, both resident of Bhatkal in Karnataka, were active IM members and had escaped to Pakistan and from there to Syria via Afghanistan. The brothers came to limelight after the police busted another IS module in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, in May last year.
