Against target of 2.51 Crores, 3.47 Crores saplings planted : Modi

Patna, Aug 09 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today said that against the target of plantation of 2.51 Crores saplings this year, a total of 3.47 Crores saplings were planted this year even during the bad phase of Corona pandemic.
Mr Modi said that record plantation of 3.47 crores of sapling was done against the target of 2.51 Crores plantation this year. It was a great achievement as challenge was difficult due to Coronavirus pandemic in the state which was also affected not only the country but across the globe, he added.
Mr Modi said that plantation work was carried out under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee ( MNREGA) Scheme, Self Help Group, Agriculture Forestry , Social Organisations and other stakeholders. The mission of plantation of 2.51 Crore saplings which was earlier till August 9 this year, had been extended till August 31 in more than 12 districts due to Corona pandemic, he added.
