Patna, Jul 10 (UNI) After RJD, a constituent of Grand Alliance, LJP a partner of ruling NDA in Bihar, today came out against holding state Assembly elections to be held in October-November this year, saying such exercise would put lives of millions of people at risk.
LJP president and party MP from Jamu i Chirag Paswansaid that in this bad phase of Corona pandemic, Election Commission should think whether it would be proper to go for polling in Bihar when Corona positive cases were increasing at alarmingly and scenario could aggravate further in days ahead. There was great possibility of putting lives of millions of people at risk of elections were held in October-November this year, he added.
Mr Paswan said, polling percentage would also slip to very low level which would not augur well for democracy. Elections should be held in atmosphere where people could not feel threat on their lives due to Coronavirus infection, he suggested.
