Afghanistan reports 580 new coronavirus cases, total crosses 13,000

Kabul, May 28(UNI)The Afghan Ministry of Public Health on Thursday reported that 580 new positive cases of COVID-19 have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number cases in Afghanistan to 13,036.
A breakup of the cases is as follows, in Kabul (322), Herat (139), Panjshir (27), Balkh (22), Farah (21), Paktia (20), Faryab (15) and Parwan(14).
In the ensuing period 8 COVID-19 patients died, taking the death toll in the country to 235. The number of patients who have recovered from the virus stands at 1,209.
