Afghan forces kill Taliban key commander

Kabul, Afghanistan, May 23 (UNI) The Afghan security forces on Saturday reporter to have killed a senior Taliban commander Habibullah Nasiri in the Kunduz province.
Xinhua quoted official sources as saying that Habibullah Nasiri, the Taliban commander of the provincial capital Kunduz city who is believed to have been involved in conducting terrorist attacks including targeted killings was killed on Saturday by Afghan security forces.

The official expressed his hope that Nasiri's elimination would prove to be a major setback to the Taliban in the Kunduz province.

The Islamist Taliban militia who have lost dozens of fighters in clashes with the government troops outside the Kunduz city last week are yet to comment on the report.
