Advocate shot dead in UP's Basti

Basti, Feb 28 (UNI) An advocate was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the premises of the Basti district court on Thursday.
Police sources said here Jag Narayan Yadav (55), who was a resident of Amrut Bagh Rauta chauraha Gandhi Nagar in the Basti Kotwali area was at his seat in the court when motorcycle-borne assailants shot at him and fled from the spot.
Sources said the motive behind the crime is yet to be ascertained.
A manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding miscreants.

Chandigarh, Oct 19 (UNI) The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Saturday urged the Election Commission EC) to ensure free and fair election in four Punjab Assembly bypolls by stopping the ruling Congress from allegedly threatening and harassing Akali Dal leaders and workers by misusing the state police, as well as instructing all outsiders, including Cabinet Ministers, MLAs and other Congress leaders, not to remain present in all poll-bound Assembly constituencies.
