Advisor Kumar directs police to exercise restrain to avoid civilian casualties

Srinagar, Dec 16 (UNI) Advisor to Governor K Vijay Kumar on Sunday asked J&K Police to exercise restrain to avoid civilian casualties and collateral damage while carrying out anti-militancy operations and security related drills in Kashmir valley.
Advisor Kumar said this while reviewing Law and Order, other security related issues in Kashmir valley during a high level meeting at Police Control Room (PCR) in the summer capital, Srinagar.
The meeting comes a day after seven civilians were killed in clashes, which were triggered after an encounter ensued between militants and security forces that left three ultras dead on Saturday in south Kashmir district of Pulwama. An Army jawan was also killed in the encounter.
