ADB, India sign USD177 mn loan for road improvement in Maha

New Delhi, Oct 19 (UNI) The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India on Monday signed a 177 million dollar loan to upgrade 450 km of state highways and major district roads in the state of Maharashtra.
The signatories to the Maharashtra State Road Improvement Project were Sameer Kumar Khare, Additional Secretary (Fund Bank and ADB), Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance, who signed for the Government of India, and Kenichi Yokoyama, Country Director of ADB's India Resident Mission, who signed for ADB, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement here.
After signing the loan agreement, Mr Khare said the project will improve connectivity between rural areas and urban centres in the state, enabling rural communities to have better access to markets, employment opportunities and services.

NCRTC launches campaign to encourage voting for LS polls

New Delhi, April 25 (UNI) In a bid to encourage passengers to exercise their democratic right to vote in the parliamentary elections, National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) on Thursday launched a campaign for the second phase of Lok Sabha polls, scheduled to be held on April 26.
