Ad hoc nature of decision-making not good for national security: Yechury

New Delhi, Sep 20 (UNI) Questioning the ad hoc nature of decision making by the NDA government in the wake of Uri terrorist attack in Kashmir in which 18 soldiers were killed and scores injured, CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury today said this kind of decision-making was not good for a serious issue like national security.
In a series of tweets, Mr Yechury said, ''In the aftermath of #Uri terror attack, where are the central government's institutional structures of decision making on national security? The ad hoc nature of decision-making in the govt may be good for spin and PR, but is not good for a serious issue like national security.’’
Further, he questioned the absence of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj from meetings on national security. ''Why is the foreign minister missing from meetings on diplomatic response to Uri? Why is Chairman, COSC not part of security deliberations?'' Mr Yechury said.
