Actor Sayaji Shinde attends SRTMU's environmental programme in Nanded

Nanded, Jan 25 (UNI) Marathi and Tamil film actor Sayaji Shinde on Saturday attended an
environmental programme organized by the Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University
(SRTMU)here.
The varsity's National Service Scheme held a debate on the topic ‘Conservation of trees and
water: Creating an awareness’.
Speaking during the debate, actor Shinde remarked, "Men may pretend and work negatively
but the trees do not have such disqualifications."
He underlined the importance of tree plantation for its' utility as well as conservation of
nature.
Explaining cruciality of afforestation, he said, "Trees provide fruits, flowers and medicines
without practicing any disparity."
He asserted that there is a need of planting 10 lakh trees and nursing them.
The varsity's Vice-Chancellor Dr Udhav Bhosle announced hiking Rs 10 lakh fund, meant for planting trees, to Rs 1.45 crore.

Anti-CAA protests aimed at blackmailing govt: Sambit Patra

Panaji, Feb 26 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Sabmit Patra on Wednesday said that the ongoing anti-CAA protests in the national capital were aimed at black mailing the government by the opposition around US President Donald Turmp's visit to India.
Speaking at an interaction programme in the city, he said, “They want to blackmail the government. They want the government should bend down. I am not saying anything provocative. The government has said repeatedly, that it (CAA) is an act to give rights, not take rights. All the controversial issues which no one wanted to touch with tongs earlier, we have in one year, taken such big decisions in controversial matters.”
“You think the Opposition will sit silent? They will use everything in their power to destabilise this government, this country,” the BJP leader said.
