Sangli, Oct 6 (UNI) Renowed Marathi and Hindi actor and playwright Dr Mohan Agashe will be felicitated with this year's prestigious 'Vishnudas Bhave Purskar' at a function to be held on the 'Rang Bhoomi Din' on November five.
Making this announcement in a news conference here on Friday, Sharad Karale, president of Akhil Bhartiya Natya Vidyamandir Committee (ABNVC), said that Dr Agashe has been selected for the award considering his contribution to acting in both Marathi and Hindi films, TV serials and theatre as well as a playwright.
The award will comprise cash purse of Rs 25,000, shawl and a citation, he informed.
The award distribution function, organised by ABNVC, will be held on Rang Bhoomi Din on November 5 in the presence of Ms Kirti Shiledar, president of Akhil Bhartiya Natya Sammelan, will give away the award
to Dr Agashe, Karale added.
The previous recipients of this prestigious and nationally important award were Balgandharv, Acharya Atre, Mama Pendse, Ms Durga Khote, P L Deshpande, G D Madhukar, Prabhakar Panshikar, Vasant Kanetkar,
Nilu Phule, Dilip Prabhavalkar, Amol Palekar, Vikram Gokhale, Mohan Joshi and others.
