Active involvement of all stakeholders needed for development: Vice-President

Kolkata, Feb 16 (UNI) Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu today said that development
can be accelerated if there is active involvement of all stakeholders, participation of the
people, the Civil Society organisations and the private sector in implementation of
government programmes.
He was speaking at the closing ceremony of India Rotary Centennial Summit 2020 at
the Biswa Bangla convention centre here where Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar
was also present.
Earlier, Mr Dhankar, Union Minister of the state for WCD Debashree Chaudhari, state
Minister for Science and Technology Bratya Basu and other senior officials received
Mr Naidu at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport.
The Vice-President visited the exhibition where he was welcomed by Rotary elected
International president Shekhar Mehta. He was also briefed on how Rotary has been
volunteering peace, literacy, clean water and sanitation and fighting preventable
diseases in India and abroad.
During the ceremony Mr Naidu and the governor were felicitated.
