ACB officials nabs police sub inspector, constable & panter for accepting bribe of Rs 40,000

Kolhapur, Sep 19 (UNI) Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested three persons including a sub-inspector, constable attached to Rajarampuri police station of the city and their panter (private candidate) for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 40,000 for not to book complainant as co-accused in matka-gambling case.
Arrested persons identified as Abhijeet Shivaji Gurav, sub-inspector, Rohit Rajendra Powar, constable, both attached to Rajarampuri police station of the city and their 'Panter' Rohit Ramchandra Sorap, of Ujalaiwadi.
According to ACB press release, complainant, who had involved in Matka-gambling case, met Rajarampuri police station's sub-inspector Mr Gurav and constable Mr Powar and requested them not to book case against him as co-accused in matka-gambling case, who demanded Rs 60,000 for it and after accepted the demand by complainant, both took Rs 20,000 as advance before complaint and told complainant to give remaining amount of Rs 40,000 to their 'Panter' Mr Sorap.
