ACB nabs AMC engineer for taking bribe

Aurangabad, Dec 15 (UNI) The city unit of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Sunday arrested a Branch Engineer of Anti Encroachment Department of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and a private person for accepting a bribe of Rs 1,00,000.
According to ACB sources, the accused are identified as Anti Encroachment branch engineer Waman Kambale (55) and Vijay Nikalge (39), who threatened the complainant to demolish his construction as per rule of AMC and sought Rs 25,00,000 from him for not taking any action.
Reluctant to pay the bribe, the complainant approached ACB Aurangabad unit and registered a complaint against duo. Basis on his complaint the ACB team laid a trap at office of Encroachment department at AMC premises and caught red handed Kamble and Nikalje while accepting the powdered currency notes of Rs 1,00,000 as first installment in presence of an eye witness, they said.
