ABVIMAS to introduce snowboarding, expands winter sports training in Manali

Manali, Jan 31 (UNI) The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (ABVIMAS) is set to introduce snowboarding for the first time on the slopes of Manali in Himachal Pradesh, marking a significant expansion of its winter sports training programme and adding a new dimension to organised snow sports in the state.
The development comes as ABVIMAS formally commences its winter sports season with the launch of Basic and Advanced Skiing Courses, reinforcing its standing as a national centre of excellence for snow sports and adventure training.
ABVIMS Director Avinash Negi said that a total of 109 participants from different parts of the country are currently enrolled in the two courses.
