Absence of critical care ambulances in Kashmir hospitals costing lives: DAK

Srinagar, Aug 27 (UNI) Alleging that absence of critical care ambulances in Kashmir hospitals is costing lives of emergency and trauma patients, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) today said ambulances that are available in our hospitals are as good as trucks with no resuscitation facilities and trained staff.
“Lack of critical care ambulances is proving fatal for sick and wounded. Ambulances that are available in our hospitals are as good as trucks with no resuscitation facilities and trained staff. None of these vehicles are fitted with life support systems rendering them no better than regular transport vehicles,” President DAK Nisar ul Hassan said.
He said patients ferried in these ambulances have no advantage over a patient travelling in a normal vehicle, adding that these vehicles are just white colored vans with a siren.
