About 10.28 lakh people housed in 3,274 relief camps in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 20 (UNI) About 10,28,073 people are housed in 3,274 relief camps in Kerala, which witnessed its ever worst flood disaster in this century.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday evening, the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said 4,51,929 women 3,99,649 men and 1,76,495 children below 12 years are in the camps.
"About 602 people were rescued from low lying areas on Monday in the state. However it was 82,442 people on August 17, about 58,000 people on August 18, and 22,000 people on August 19. The figures shows that the rescue operation is nearing its final stage," he added.

Itanagar, Mar 29 (UNI) In a repeat of previous poll outcomes, the hilly Northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh is ‘set’ to witness seven candidates from ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including Chief Minister Pema Khandu, getting elected 'unopposed' to the 11th Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh, 'without a contest'.
After ‘complete’ scrutiny of nominations filed for all 60 Assembly Constituencies, including the ‘adjourned’ scrutiny of papers done for Itanagar and Daporijo seats today, altogether seven validly nominated BJP candidates were found to be opponent free, and they are likely to be declared elected unopposed on Saturday after the last date of withdrawal of candidature, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Liken Koyu said.
