Abhishek must show self belief to bounce back: Kapil Dev

New Delhi, March 6 (UNI) Former India captain Kapil Dev felt that Indian opener Abhishek Sharma who is going through a lean patch must show "self belief" to make a strong come back on time as India is set for the title clash against New Zeakabd on March 8 in Ahmedabad. Expressing confidence in the consistent performance of team India, Kapil said that India will emerge victorious on Sunday for the second consecutive time if they continue to the same form as a team.
"Abhishek has to believe in himself that he can perform. There is one match more to go - the final. When players play as a team then they are successful," said Dev while speaking to the media at the Qutab Golf course after the final of PGTI's '72 the League'.
The former Indian captain is the chairperson of the Professional Golf Tour of India(PGTI).
Known for his aggressive opening style, Abhishek Sharma has been under fire as he was dismissed cheaply in the semi-final against England on Thursday in what was his sixth sub-15 score in seven T20 World Cup matches.
However, Dev noted that players of the caliber of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma have the capacity to make a comeback any day.
"Sanju Samson is a brilliant cricketer," Dev observed. While big players can go off target sometimes, they can return to form unannounced in the same fashion, he informed.
Dev was all praise for India's pace mainstay Jasprit Bumrah who delivered another stellar performance in the semi final.
"He is the best and he is the best," he said citing the way he bowled in pressure conditions. "I think he deserves to get all the love and respect from everybody"
Bumrah bowled the eighteenth over against England in the semi-final conceding just six runs to tilt the game in India's favour.
