New Delhi, Feb 7 (UNI) Actress Priyanka Chopra, who made the country proud by being the only Indian presenter at The Oscars 2016, says her character Abha Mathur in the upcoming film 'Jai Gangaajal' is a tough police officer. The versatile actress has recently voiced a superhero character in a Marvel online game, titled MARVEL Avengers Academy. In a recent interaction with mediapersons about the movie, Priyanka said, "When you are playing a tough character, when you are dressed in a uniform, it becomes very difficult to maintain femininity and that was very important to me. "Prakash Ji and I discussed that as a woman, it's very important to celebrate womanhood and yet at the same time, be in a position of authority and that's how Abha is, which is very different from how we see tough women," she added. Elaborating further on her character, Ms Marvel said, 'when they do action sequences, women somehow tend to lose their femininity. It's beautiful that Abha is extremely feminine and very graceful, but at the same time, not someone to be taken for granted.' Jai Gangajal revolves around a female IPS officer, who is brought in a well-oiled corrupt socio-political system. She is thought to be weak, pliable and easy to manipulate. However, things become difficult for the corrupt powerful, when she comes into a confrontational mode. The movie is written and directed by Prakash Jha. Produced by Prakash Jha Productions and Play Entertainment and co-produced by Milind Dabke, the flick revisits the dusty heartland of Central India and examines the people-police relationship. Slated for release on March 4, the flick also stars Manav Kaul and Jha in key roles. UNI AR SHS RJ 1522
