AAPSU attacks Centre over CAB

Itanagar, Dec 13 (UNI) The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) on Friday lashed out at the Central Government over the prevailing situation in neighbouring state of Assam following the passage of Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) by the Parliament recently and said that the voice of the common masses should be heard.
Taking a dig at the Centre over CAB, AAPSU general secretary Tobom Dai said, “For us, democracy doesn’t end only on ballots. Being at the helm of the power, you can’t do anything autocratically. The voice of the common masses should be heard. It is unfortunate that because of the brute majority, they have forcefully brought the Bill and the outcome is - Northeast is burning today.”
“Look at the situation of Assam, the state is on fire. It is literally an ungovernable state now. Student protesters are being repressed. We condemn the repressive measures by the Government of India. Army is being brought to Assam. I think these kinds of things can’t quell the voices of the common masses of the entire NE. We stand in solidarity with the people of Assam and NE,” he said during a press meet here.
