AAP MLA demands high-level probe into food scam during SAD-BJP regime

Chandigarh, Jan 24 (UNI) Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Sunam MLA Aman Arora has slammed the then SAD-BJP government for converting the alleged food scam involving Rs 31,000 crore into ‘term loan’ during its tenure.
Referring to the motion moved by him in the assembly seeking high-level into the allegations, Arora said the government had allegedly converted the food scam involving Rs 31,000 crore into term loan. He informed that the amount has to be paid back in the next 20 years at a fixed rate of interest, which would amount to Rs 65,000.
In a statement here today, the AAP MLA said that Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal had assured the House to probe the scam by a high powered committee to bring the facts to the fore. He lamented that nothing tangible had come out of the assurance made to the House.
