AAP govt responsible for long power cuts, water shortage in Delhi: Maken

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken today said people are fed up with unscheduled power cuts and no water supply in the city under the Kejriwal government.
Addressing mediapersons at the DPCC office, he said, ''Regular power and water outages have reached optimum level in Delhi. Erratic power cuts are happening for long hours. Many areas are going parched for need of water for days together.''
On the peak demand and the generation capacity within Delhi, he said, ''The average demand last week was 5,655 MW and the installed generation capacity in Delhi is 2,917 MW. But the generation from this installed capacity last week average was only 898 MW. Thus, only 30.78 per cent of the generation capacity within Delhi is being utilised. No efforts are being made by both the Delhi GENCO and the NTPC to provide hundred per cent of the installed capacity.''
