AAP call centre raids: CEC to meet Delhi CEO and police officials, says Sisodia

New Delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) Following the AAP sit-in protest outside EC over the alleged raids at their call centres, Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora has called the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi and senior Delhi police officials for a meeting regarding the matter.
Deputy Chief Minister Delhi Manish Sisodia on Friday evening after meeting the Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora at his office said that after the AAP leaders apprised the CEC about the raids the CEC has called the CEO and Police officials to discuss the matter.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) earlier on Friday, held a sit-in protest outside the Election Commission office against Delhi Police over allegedly harassing call centre employees hired by their party and demanded action from the poll panel.
A delegation, led by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, that reached the office of the chief electoral office in Delhi, alleged that the police has been conducting searches at AAP's call centre for the past four days at the behest of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The AAP delegation, included senior leader Sanjay Singh and Lok Sabha candidates Raghav Chadha and Atishi.
The AAP leaders held a sit-in protest outside the EC's office protesting against the raid.
Reacting to the raid, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asked the Election Commission that what was Aam Aadmi Party's fault as their party call centres were being raided by the poll panel.
He said that the party at least needed to know as to what was wrong on their part for which the raids were being conducted at their call centres allegedly by the Delhi Police on behest of BJP.
''Police has raided without any search warrant and is barging into server rooms and interrogating all call centre agents. What is this going on? What is the crime?'', Mr Kejriwal said in a tweet.
''Police reaches another call centre. Only asking for server details and our data,'' Mr Kejriwal tweeted.
Why is CEC raiding our call centres and asking for our data? What is our crime? Pl tell our crime at least,'' said Delhi CM taking to the micro blogging site twitter.
However, giving clarification with regard to the investigations regarding bogus calls complaints about Delhi's electoral rolls, Delhi police said that they have registered FIR following the complaints, investigations were underway in the matter and as far as the allegations against the police, it has responded to the Election Commission.
The Police further said that no call centre owners have filed any complaint regarding harassment by their investigating team members.
''Relevant facts of the matter are being ascertained. The investigation is being conducted strictly in accordance with the law.
Nobody has been arrested in the case so far.
We are ascertaining facts from the call centres from where such calls have been made,'' the police said.
