New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan on Monday congratulated Vinesh Phogat, who created history by becoming the first Indian woman wrestler to win a gold medal at the Asian Games.

'Congratulations Vinesh for winning the Gold in the Asian Games. We are all so proud of you. Love, Aamir and the team of Dangal. Mhaari chhoriyan chhoron se kam hai ke,' Aamir said in a tweet.

Vinesh thumped Japanese Irie Yuki 6-2 to take the numero uno spot in the 50 KG category.

Vinesh took a 4-0 lead in the final. She completely outclassed her Japanese opponent.

This is second gold medal for India in wrestling while earlier Bajrang Punia was the first to claim yellow metal.

Vinesh comes from a successful background of wrestling with her cousins -- Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari, both international wrestlers and Commonwealth Games medalists as well.
