Kolkata, Dec 28(UNI) 2018 has turned as a balanced year for Bengali film. Though this year significantly failed to produce a proper superhit but also have seen some path-breaking movies tried to excel.
Soukarya Ghoshal and Indrasis Acharya led the positive team this year with 'Rainbow Jelly' and 'Pupa' respectively.
Srijit Mukherji and Kaushik Ganguly as usual have won hearts with their twins. Srijit's 'Uma' and 'Ek Je Chhilo Raja' pleased the audiences while Kaushik connected hearts with love through 'Drishtikone' and 'Kishore Kumar Junior'.
Shiboprasad and Nandita's 'Haami' caught the perfect chord of the society. Debutante director Dhruba Banerjee stunned everyone with his nicely crafted 'Guptodhoner Sondhane'.
'Rong Beronger Kori' by Ranjan Ghosh, 'Ahare Mon' by Pratim D. Gupta and Parambrata Chatterjee's 'Shonar Pahar' deserves positive mentions.
'Aami Joy Chatterjee' by Manoj Michigan, 'Bidaay Byomkesh' by Debaloy Bhattacharya,
'Uronchondi' by Abhishek Saha and Aniket Chattopadhyay's 'Kabir' will grasp average tag.
Some hyped projects ended up in a negative note. 'Crisscross' by Birsa Dasgupta, 'Aschhe Abar Shabor' by Arindam Sil, 'Good Night City' by Kamaleshwar Mukherjee and last but not the least 'Rosogolla' by Pavel failed to cover up the expectations.
Very significantly some project turned disastrous this year namely 'Michael' by debutante director Satrajit Sen, Aniket's 'Hoichoi Unlimited' and 'Bagh Bandi Khela' by director trio Raja Chanda, Sujit Mondal and Haranath Chakraborty.
On an ending note there comes a trend that people reacted positively with good content oriented film and significantly rejected nonsense projects irrespective of starcast and production house banner.
