877 detained in Tunisia after mass protests: Reports

Cairo, Jan 18 (UNI) The Tunisian authorities have detained 877 people after mass protests that erupted in several cities, local media sources reported on Monday.
The protesters had gathered to mark the 10th anniversary of the 2011 Jasmine Revolution.
The Al Arabiya broadcaster quoted police sources saying that majority of the detained agitators were under the age of 25 years, and added that the protesters burned tires and dustbin cans to impede the movement of the police forces. Police sources were also quoted as saying that some of the rioters even used fireworks to attack policemen.
