8-yr old girl dies mysteriously in Haryana village; toll rises to 15: Official

Kaithal, Oct 7 (UNI) An eight-year-old girl in Sotha village died here mysteriously on Saturday, taking the number of deaths to reached 15, according to official sources said.
Sukhvinder Singh, father of the deceased, said that she had been suffering from fever for the past four days As the news of death of girl spread in the village , the residents were in panic as they felt that many villagers had died due to some unknown disease and still the health authorities were groping in dark despite collection of blood samples of villagers after a door to door survey.
Health teams have been visiting the village for the last couple of days and they suspect that people have died after consumption of contaminated water. Deputy CMO Dr Davender and Shamsher Singh, incharge epidemic control team, on their visit to village asked residents about the precautions to be taken in view of the spread of unknown disease.
