76-year old entrepreneur accuses local EPF officials of miscalculation of PF outstanding amount

Pune, Dec 2 ( UNI) A 76- years old entrepreneur Sukhvinder veer Mahindra today alleged that he was summoned by Provident Fund office Pune directig him that why he should not be arrest for not paying interest and demurrage from 1997.
Mr Mahindra who hails from Delhi is mechanical engineer by profession, has started an engineering and tool room company at Bhosari industrial estate in Pune on 1980 in the name of poona Udyog and was involved in supplying of defence materials to defence establishment nearby Pune.
Mr Mahindra informed to media persons that as per the madras high court orders on October 2013, that PF authorities can not accept demurrage charges, but dues has to paid by all. On based of order, Mr Mahindra has filed petitions on October 22, 2021 requesting to pf authorities to accept dues payments from him and exempt from demurrage. But PF authorities has issued the notice asking him why you should not be arrest. He also alleged that recently pf department has attached Poona Udyog bank account.
He threatened to commit suicide the day he will appear at the pf office. due this situation many workers had to left the organization, he added. He further said that pf has charged around 24 lakh amount towards recovery, but if demurrage charges will remove and proper calculations were made, it could be less than six lakh, he added.
Mahindra said that pf authorities have not seal his company or property, but bank account was sealed.
Mr Mahindra said that he is ready to pay all dues of his share to pf office, but the attachment and arrest warrant should be withdrawn first so that he can complete the defence work order and save his company.
