74,782 cases settled in statewide special Lok Adalat held across Telangana

Hyderabad, Nov 16 (UNI) The Special Lok Adalat held across Telangana on Saturday resulted in the settlement of 74,782 pending compoundable criminal cases, marking a significant step toward reducing case backlogs and easing the burden on the judiciary.
The initiative was organised by the Telangana High Court and the Telangana State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA), with extensive coordination from the police department, district judiciary, and legal services bodies. Police identified eligible cases in advance and issued notices to both parties, initiating the settlement process on October 27.
A total of 14,642 FIR cases were compounded. The remaining settlements included 154 Disaster Management Act cases, 23,400 e-petty cases, 31,189 Motor Vehicle Act cases, and 5,397 cybercrime cases.
