7-member Central team visits cyclone Amphan hit areas in Odisha to assess damages

Bhubaneswar,Jun 04 (UNI) A seven-member inter ministerial central team, led by Joint Secretary Ministry of Home Affairs Shri Prakash, today visited Kendrapara and Balasore Distrct for an on the spot assessment of the damages caused by the Super Cyclonic storm Amphan last month.
Deputy SRC Pravat Ranjan Mohapatra said tomorrow the team will be divided into two groups and is scheduled to visit Bhadrak and Jagatsinghpur districts , worst affected by the cyclone.
The team leader and four members of the team had reached Bhubaneswar last evening and two team members from Bhubaneswar joined the team this morning for field visit.
Four members of the team today visited Balasore and three members visited Kendrapara. The team will stay till June 6 next .
As per the preliminary estimation, the cyclonic storm that hit the state on May 20 last has affected over 44 lakh people in ten districts of the state and damaged crop over one lakh hectares of land.
But four distrcts—Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur were worst affected.
Besides Shri Prakash, the other team members are —Dr Somanath Agasimani(Assistant Commissioner Crops Department of Agriculture Cooperation & Farmers Welfare, Mr S K Rath (Assistant Commissioner Department of Fisheries, New Delhi), Mr Suraj Kumar Pradhan (Joint Director PF-S, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, ) Mr Amrish Pal Singh
( Superintendending Engineer(COORD) Ministry of Jalashakti), Mr N R L K Prasad
(Director Ministry of Power) and Mr B N Sahay (Regional Officer Department of Road Transport and Highways,Bhubaneswar).
The team members are scheduled to have a meeting with senior officers of the state government before leaving for New Delhi.
During the meeting the state government is expected to submit a memorandum to the team seeking assistance for the damage.

Memorial Institution stood first with 99.14 per cent ( 694 marks out of 700) as results of
the the Madhyamik examination (class10) were out today with 86.34 per cent successful
candidates out of total appeared 10,03,666 in the board examination that was held
between February 18-27.

allegedly in the attack of IPFT.
