65 cases of beer stolen from godown

Puducherry, Jun 6 (UNI) About 65 cases of beer has been stolen from the godown of a beer factory at Iyyankuttyppalayam near here.
According to police, the beer factory was not functioning since the commencement of lockdown and the Excise authorities had sealed the godown.
Meanwhile, Factory Assistant Manager Ramamurthy inspected the godown on Thursday after the relaxation in the lockdown rules and found that 65 cases of beer worth Rs 30,000 were stolen from the godown.
It was found that some miscreants broke the widow of the godown and took away the beer cases.
Mr Ramamurthy lodged a complaint with the Mettuppalayam police on Friday who registered a case.
Since, no CCTV cameras were installed in the godown, police are taking steps to find out the culprits from the CCTV footage from nearby places.
