55 Tripura police officers transferred

Agartala, Dec 24 (UNI) In the biggest ever reshuffle, the government has transferred as many as 55 Tripura Police Service (TPS) officers, including three IPS officers last night, in the police administration of nine month old BJP-IPFT government.
As soon as the government assumed office, it was decided to set up separate investigation wings for serious crime and economic offences besides strengthening crime investigation wing and intelligence wing of the state police. The government posted three senior IPS officers in those branches.
According to order, Abhijeet Saptarsi, incumbent SP (CID) has been transferred and posted as SP (SB) with additional charge of AIGP (Crime & Training) while Sankar Debnath is relieved from the charge of SP (SB) but will continue to remain SP (Security). Kiran Kumar K ,SDPO,Kanchanpur is transferred and posted as addl. SP (urban), West Tripura. Subrata Chakraborty AIGP (Crime) is transferred as AIGP (Law& Order).

Kolkata, Apr 18 (UNI) West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose on Thursday said he has cancelled his proposed visit to the poll-bound northern districts, including Cooch Behar, a day after the Election Commission of India suggested to the gubernatorial office that his presence may invite the violence of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), which is already enforced for the first phase of polling on Friday.
