54 pc Hyderabad’s population estimated to have antibodies against coronavirus : CCMB

Hyderabad, Mar 4 (UNI) Around 54 per cent people in Hyderabad have antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, indicating prior exposure to the coronavirus, according to a joint study by CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) and Bharat Biotech.
The study report on ‘estimated the seroprevalence of antibodies against the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 in Hyderabad’, which was released to the media here on Thursday, stating that this study was conducted on around 9000 samples.
During the study, scientists checked for antibodies against the virus in people across 30 wards ( 300 people of each ward) in the city and all of them older than 10 years of age, were tested, said in a joint press conference by CCMB Director Dr Rakesh K Mishra along with NIN Directo Dr R.Hemalatha, Atal Incubation Centre-CCMB, Dr N.Madhusudhana Rao, Scientist ‘G’ from NIN, Dr A Laxmaiah and Bharat Biotech Executive Director Dr V.Krishna Mohan.

Hyderabad, April 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a communication stipulating that every individual employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or establishment, eligible to vote in elections to the House of the People or the Legislative Assembly of a State, shall be granted a paid holiday under Section 135 B of the Representation of People Act.
