53 more new cases, recovery rises in Meghalaya

Shillong, Aug 10 (UNI) Fifty-three more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 positive cases till Monday afternoon, taking active cases up to 611, even as eight more patients recovered from the viral infection taking the recovery tally up to 498.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said 12 new cases, that of 11 civilians and one armed forces personnel were detected in East Khasi Hills, 39 cases, including 29 BSF troopers personnel and 10 civilians, including nine returnees in West Garo Hills and one armed forces personnel and a civilian tested positive for COVID-19 in Ri-Bhoi district.
With 428 (268 civilians, 91 BSF, 69 armed forces) active cases, East Khasi Hills is the most affected district in the state, followed by Ri-Bhoi with 85 and West Garo Hills with 65 cases.
