Patna, May 19 (UNI) An estimated 53.55 per cent of 1.52 crores crore electorate today exercised their franchise sealing fates in EVMs of 157 candidates including four Union ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad, Ashwini Kumar Chaubey, Ram Kripal Yadav and R K Singh.
Polling to eight Lok Sabha constituencies--Nalanda, Patna Sahib, Patliputra, Ara, Buxar, Sasaram, Karakat and Jehanabad--passed off peacefully in final phase of Lok Sabha elections amid fool proof security, barring few minor incidents of violence.
Due to security reasons, polling was concluded by 4pm in Masaurhi and Paliganj assembly segments in Patliputra constituency, Bhabhua, Chainpur, Chenari and Sasaram assembly segments in Sasaram Lok Sabha constituency and Dehri, Karakat, Goh and Navinagar assembly segments in Karakat Lok Sabha constituency.
