50 day land journey from Imphal to London begins

Imphal, Apr 15 (UNI) A land journey from Imphal to London was flagged off here today at Classic Grande by Maj Gen KP Singh, IGAR S. For 50 days, 19 men and 8 women will travel from Imphal to London in an epic self-drive road expedition. Organised by Adventures Overland, the journey is a challenging task as the entire journey will be by road only.
The team will reach border town, Moreh today and the IG Assam Rifles assured to help the convoy move freely on the highway. Normally Assam Rifles troops stop passengers on the highway and the frisking and checking of vehicles can last several hours.
The trip will cover a distance of 16,000 kilometres, crossing 18 countries in a convoy of seven cars. The convoy is expected to reach London, England on 2nd of June 2019. The youngest participant on the trip this year is five-year-old Bahira Sandha according to founders of Adventures Overland, Sanjay Madan and Tushar Agarwal.
