5 yrs of HP Cong rule did nothing for disabled: Umang foundation

Shimla, Dec 2 (UNI) Umang Foundation, a public welfare trust working for the disabled, has alleged that the state government has done nothing in the last five years to bring a positive change in the lives of poor and disabled.
It blatantly disobeyed the orders of the HP High Court to provide free education to the disabled up to university level and did not implement the new disability law which was passed by Parliament. Despite the High Court orders, the government has not given reservation to the disabled in education and jobs.
Thalassemic kids have not been given any facilities which were available to the disabled. Thalassemia is identified as one of the disabilities in the new Disability Law.
