5 held for attacking, grievously injuring 2 persons

Panaji, Sep 19 (UNI) Calangute Police in North Goa on Wednesday arrested five persons in connection for allegedly attacking and grievously injuring two persons.
According to Calangute Police Station Incharge Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi, a complaint was received from one Sameersab Bepari, resident of Orda Candolim informing that five persons had assaulted his friend namely Sam and Miss Mary early morning at Khobravado, while they were traveling on a bike and overtook the accused persons while they were riding their car.
Over the petty issue of overtaking, accused persons Vishwas Govekar from Calangute, Tukaram Naik from Asnora, Dipesh Naik from Calangute, Rahul Dias from Saligao and Sitakant Zantye from Bardez attacked Sam and his friend Mary with fist blows, slaps and broken beer glass bottles causing them grievous injuries.
