5 arrested for opium smuggling in Latehar

Latehar, Nov 12 (UNI) Police today arrested five people including a woman for smuggling
opium under Balumath Police Station area of this district.
Police said during the vehicle checking drive on the Ranchi-Chatra main road these five
people were arrested from a bus and a car with a total of five kilograms of opium.
SDPO Ranveer Singh said during a vehicle checking drive the opium was seized from
both the vehicles.
The cost of seized opium is worth Rs 5 lakh police said adding that both the vehicles
have been seized.
