41st Matri Shree Media awards announced, 3 UNI journos in list

New Delhi, Apr 15 (UNI) Three UNI journalists--Nikhil Vyas (UNI), Ajay Vishwkarma(Univarta) and Sayed Anjum(UNI Urdu) among others have been selected for 41st Matri Shree Media awards under Social Service Category.
The awards function will be held on April 24 at a simple ceremony in the national capital.
The chief guests of the function will be Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Punjab Kesari Dilli Director Aditya Narayan Chopra.
Sonam Kapoor starrer film ''Neeerja'' has been announced as the best feature film.
The convenor of the Matri Shree Media Award Committee and editor chief of Matri-Sawar Dinesh Sharma said Senior photo journalist Kamal Kishore (PTI), senior journalist Umesh Singh (Bhasa ), and journalist Sanjay Malik have also been selected in Social Service Category.
Mr Sharma said the following names were chosen by the select committee comprising Mr Saran Aggarwal, Mr Ashok Aggarwal and Mr Ramesh Bajaj.
Mr Sharma said for Matri Shree Shield, the the select committee has selected Mr Onkareshwar of Sunstar, Katyayni Upreti (Nav Bharat Times), Bharat Kapoor (Punjab Kesari Dilli), Sanjay Kushwaha (Daily Hindustan), Santosh Kumar Sharma(Dainik Jagran), and photo journalist Vivek Nigam
(Amar Ujala).
Besides, Pramod Singh (Pioneer), Sumit Kumar Singh (New Indian Express), Anoop Verma (MIllennium Post), Ajeet Shrivastav (India news), Sushil Batra (ANI), Subham Shankdhar (India TV), Ravees Pal Singh (TV
Today Network), Prasannjet Das Gupta (Uttar Bangla Sambad), Dinesh Joshi (Amarvani), Sachin Meena( Eastern Clonical), Satish Jain (Sadhana Samachar), Tanvir Ahmad (Siyasi Ufuk), Tabish Kamaal (Gulistaan News) and Sayeed Ali Abbas Nakvi (Ato Z) and Delhi upto Date website have also been chosen for Matri Shree awards.
The award includes a Bharat Mata shield and citation which will be conferred upon the winners on April 24.
The select committee members will also present ''Pen" , the original symbol of Indian journalism to the awardees.
