4 kg heroin recovered from Punjab border

Jalandhar, Nov 10 (UNI) The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized more than four kg heroin worth Rs 21.50 crore in international market from near the Border Out Post (BoP) Shamke in Punjab's Ferozepur district.
BSF and Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Punjab Police at Ferozepur carried out a joint search operation in the area of responsibility near BoP Shamke and recovered three packets of contraband wrapped in polythene and a two liter plastic bottle filled with contraband, suspected to be heroin, weighing 4.305 kg buried in hollow space under a tree, BSF sources said on Saturday.
The heroin, allegedly sent by Pakistani smugglers, was to be delivered to peddlers in Punjab.
