3rd India Africa Forum Summit is a historic occasion: Prez to King of Swaziland

New Delhi, Oct 28 (UNI) Describing the third Summit of India Africa Forum as a ‘historic’ occasion, President Pranab Mukherjee has said it is the first time in the history of India-Africa relations that India has the privilege of receiving leaders of the entire African continent together in a Summit meeting.
Welcoming King Mswati III of Swaziland at Rashtrapati Bhavan yesterday, the President said India values its cordial relations and co-operation with Swaziland.
The President said he was happy to note that the friendly relations between India and Swaziland have grown steadily over the past few years.
''India appreciates Swaziland’s consistent support for India’s candidature at the UN and other international fora,'' the President said and assured the full cooperation of the Indian government in the achievement of Swaziland’s developmental goals.
He expressed confidence that India-Swaziland relations will be strengthened further in the years to come.
Reciprocating the President’s sentiments, King Mswati expressed gratitude to India for organising the 3rd India Africa Forum Summit and for its development assistance to Swaziland as well as whole of Africa.
He said Swaziland needs the experience and continued support of India to attain its national goals. He offered Swaziland’s support to India on issues of importance, adding that Swaziland was keen to build a strong partnership.
