30 school students escape unhurt in boat mishap

Kendrapaa, Aug 14 (UNI) Around 30 students including girls today have a providential escape as the rickety boat, in which they were ferrying to reach their school, capsized in Kani river at Madhuban Ghat under Aul police limit today.
Sources said the students of BC J High School, Jari were on their way to school from their village Bangara village under Aul block when the mishap occurred.
The boat in which they were ferrying tilted due to overcrowding and capsized near the ghat,
While some students swam to the river bank others were rescued by local people.
District Collector Samarth Verma, directed the Aul Tehsildar and District Emergency officer to probe into the incident.
He said an awareness would be launched to sensitise the boat operators and verification of the documents of the boats would be made.
