Srinagar, Feb 23 (UNI) Three Army personnel and a woman were killed and three soldiers injured in a militant ambush in the wee hours in south Kashmir district of Shopian, a police spokesman said. However, a defence ministry spokesman, when contacted, said details about the encounter are being collected. With these three deaths, 29 soldiers have lost their lives in the line of duty in the Kashmir valley this year. Security forces also gunned down 22 militants also during the period in the valley. Police spokesman told UNI that on a tip-off about the presence of militants, 44 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a joint operation at village Kungnoo in Shopian last night.
