3 hardcore Naxals killed in encounter in Chhattisgarh

Sukma, Chhattisgarh, Jun 28 (UNI) Three hardcore Naxals were today killed and a few others injured during an encounter with police at forested area near Erlapal village in Chhaittisgarh’s insurgency-affected Sukma distict, police said.
Bastar Inspector General of Police SRP Kalluri and Sukma Superintendent of Police IK Elesela said a joint team of District Reserve Guard and District Force were patrolling the area when Maoists, who lay in ambush, opened fire on them forcing police to retaliation.
Following one-and-half hour long encounter, the rebels escaped into the forest. The bodies of three uniformed ultras – DAKMM chief Podiyami Soma, panchayat committee president Podiyami Somda and janmilitia commander Hidma Kalmu – were recovered.

Hyderabad, April 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a communication stipulating that every individual employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or establishment, eligible to vote in elections to the House of the People or the Legislative Assembly of a State, shall be granted a paid holiday under Section 135 B of the Representation of People Act.
