3-day Agritex begins in Hyderabad; 30 startups create buzz at trade show

Hyderabad, Sept 7 (UNI) British Deputy High Commissioner in hyderabad, Anrew Fleming has inaugurated the 3-day Agritex 2017, conference-cum-Exhibition at the HiTEX here today.

The fifth edition of the annual event, organised by Kenes Exhibitions in association with Telangana government, kicked off with great excitement as international and Indian companies set up hundred stalls showcasing a wide range of innovative technologies and machinery related to agriculture, horticulture, dairy, aquaculture and food processing.

Reflecting the Indian government’s policy thrust, as many as 35 startups pitched tents at the exhibition, adding excitement and attracting huge interest from participants and visitors.

Speaking on the occasion, Andrew Fleming, expressed satisfaction at the increased participation and greater vibrancy at the annual show.

“Agriculture is a focus sector of the UK government’s participation in India’s growth story and we are glad to be the partner country for Agritex 2017, he added.

The exhibition-cum-conference aims to sustain and augment agriculture, dairy and food processing in Telangana by bringing farming community, agri and dairy, food processing and aqua specialists on a single platform, Kenes Exhibitions Director Prema Zilberman said on the occasion.

"We hope participants to strike mutually benefiting business deals during the course of the 3-day event,” said Prema.

Among the prominent participants at the show are Aardra Systems, Cotton Connect, Doug Marriott Associates Ltd, Agro Mavens Ltd, Bentall & Rowlands, G Shephard, HGT Global Ltd, all UK companies. Italian companies Intermizoo, Cri-Man Spa and Zenott are also showcasing their expertise at the show.

Some of the leading Indian participants include John Deere, Captain, Kaveri Pipes, ICRISAT, Telangana Food Processing Society, Telangana State Agriculture & Horticulture Department.
