Kolkata, Nov 22 (UNI) India were 174/3 at stumps in 46 overs against Bangladesh on day one of Day-Night Test here at Eden Gardens on Friday.
Skipper Virat Kohli 59 and Ajinkya Rahane 23 were at the crease when stumps was called off.
Kohli added another milestone in his career scoring quickest to reach 5000 runs as captain, achieving the feat from 86 innings against Bangladesh here.
Earlier, Kohli as skipper had also record to reach fastest 4000 runs in Test from 65 innings. The Indian skipper is now the sixth to complete 5000 run.
Earlier, record holders were Australia's Ricky Ponting who took 97 innings to reach 5000 runs, West Indies great Clive Lloyd (106 innings), South African Graeme Smith (110), Australian Allan Border (116) and New Zealand's Stephen Fleming (130).
India lead by 68 runs with 7 wickets in hand in the innings.
Earlier, Bangladesh skipper Mominul Haque won the toss and opted to bat, but were bundled out for 106 in 30.3 overs.
Pace trio of Ishant Sharma who broke Bangladesh batting line-up taking 5 wicket haul in 22 overs, Umesh Yadav 3/29 and Mohammad Shami 2/36 were pick of the bowlers.
In reply, India lost first wicket 1/26 in form of Mayank Agarwal at 14 off 21 (3 fours) in Al-Amin Hossain's spell in 5th over, second wicket fell at 2/43 of Rohit Sharma lbw by Ebadat Hossain for 21 off 35 with 2 fours and a six.
Pujara was the third victim after Ebadat Hossain scalped him in 40th over. Pujara completed patient half century 55 off 105 (8 fours).
Ebadat Hossain 2/61 and Al-Amin Hossain 1/49 were the wicket-takers for Bangladesh.
